Job Summary
Mesa Community College is currently seeking a Dean of Health Sciences to provide leadership and vision for academic programs, faculty, staff, and academic support within the assigned division, including but not limited to: Nursing, Health Sciences, and Counseling. As part of the senior academic leadership team, the Dean guides strategic planning; supports faculty hiring, development, and evaluation; advances assessment and program review; ensures compliance with accreditation requirements; and collaborates across the college to foster student learning, retention, and completion. The Dean works collaboratively with academic and student affairs colleagues, department chairs, faculty, and staff; and ensures alignment with MCC's mission, values, and strategic goals. The Dean supports community and industry partnerships and actively engages with external partners to increase opportunities for students and to respond to community needs for programming.The ideal candidate is an experienced academic leader who demonstrates exemplary communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. * Master's degree in health sciences or related field, AND Examples of academic leadership/supervisory experience includes: division/department chair, project management, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance, committee leadership, program director, and shared governance. No degree equivalency. Desired Qualifications
A. Earned doctorate in a healthcare discipline, or an earned doctorate combined with a terminal degree in a healthcare field. Special Working Conditions
