The Office is currently seeking an Investigative Auditor in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) of the office. The MFCU works to protect the integrity of Minnesotas medical assistance program and ensures accountability for those who defraud it.

A successful candidate in this position will be able to:

• Conduct criminal investigations into health care providers suspected of defrauding the Minnesota Medicaid program
• Evaluate and analyze claims data, medical records, and financial records
• Assist Division Manager and Lead Investigative Auditor with completing federally mandated reports and other statistical reporting duties
• Assist with other administrative duties involved in complying with the Federal Grant Requirements
• Assist Lead Investigative Auditor with processing of incoming referrals by reviewing investigative files from other agencies, conducting a preliminary investigation into allegations, drafting summary reports of findings, and presenting findings to Division Manager, Supervising Investigators, and Lead Investigative Auditor.
• As assigned, serve as a point of contact for database sharing with outside agencies

This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of in-office work and telework).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in criminal justice, accounting, economics, healthcare administration, or a related field OR 4 years of demonstratable similar experience
• Ability to perform assigned job responsibilities with a high level of professionalism
• Proven ability to show excellent judgement, character, and work ethic
• Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with legal procedures, rules of evidence, and/or investigative procedures
• Demonstrated skill in:
• Data analysis
• Research and writing
• Critical thinking
• Communication
• Investigative Interviewing

To be considered at the Legal Assistant 6 level (LA6), candidates must have at least 5 years of directly related experience. To be considered at the Legal Assistant 7 level (LA7), candidates must have at least 10 years of directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in:
• Working with complex statistical databases and compiling complex statistical information for submission to other entities
• Auditing other entities, or experience working for agencies or companies in an audit from an outside agency
• Demonstrated knowledge of Minnesota Medicaid systems and programs
