Nuse Practitioner - Interventional Radiology

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions as an Independent Provider by implementing approved standardized procedures (SPs) for the UCLA Department of Interventional Radiology in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Through the use of these SPs, the NP conducts consultations for Interventional Radiology patients, provides pre-procedural planning and post-procedural follow-up, observes patient response to treatment, and performs minor IR procedures.

The NP performs comprehensive histories and physical examinations for complex cases requiring advanced clinical knowledge and skills. The role includes extensive pre-procedural assessments and clinical follow-up following interventional procedures. In addition, the NP provides patient and family education, participates in research initiatives, and is actively involved in quality improvement efforts to promote safe and continuous patient care.

This NP will work at Ronald Reagan-UCLA Medical Center (RRH) with cross coverage to UCLA Santa Monica Center (SMH) and UCLA West Valley (WVH).

Salary range: $93.81- $133.97/hourly

• CA RN License and CA NP license -required
• BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required
• Furnishing license (may be obtained within 6 months of hire date)- required
• DEA license (preferred - may be obtained within 6 months of hire date) -required
• National NP Board Certification in NP Specialty - required
• MSN/DNP in Adult - Gerontology Acute Care (AG-AC)/Adult Acute Care NP Specialty- required
• Minimum of 2 years Intensive Care experience - required
• Previous NP experience ( min of 2 years)- required
• Radiology experience- preferred
• Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs -required
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel -required
• Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions -required
• Ability to set priorities -required
• Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence -required
• Document patient care in an concise and comprehensive manner -required
