This position assists with preparing food items, serving meals, and maintaining clean and safe food service areas. It supports dependable meal delivery and contributes to a well-organized dining environment. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Meal Preparation: Prepare and portion food items, assemble trays, interpret special diet needs, and ensure accuracy of meal orders
• Tray Assembly: Set up serving carts, place food items on trays, transport carts, and deliver meals to assigned residents
• Sanitation Duties: Clean dishes, equipment, floors, furniture, and food preparation areas while maintaining sanitary conditions
• Equipment Handling: Operate dish machines, restock items, clean appliances, and remove refuse to designated dumpsters
• Record Keeping: Document inventory use, record all refrigerator temperatures, track meal counts, and assist with required forms
• Safety Compliance: Follow established safety rules, report hazards, and complete required training

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment (8 hours per day; 80 hours biweekly)
• Work hours are 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM (2nd shift), rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirement:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• Previous food service worker experience
• Willingness to work in Spring City, Chester County, Pennsylvania
• Willingness to work full-time from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM with rotating days and weekends to be determined
• Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operation

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
