Marketing Program Lead

GEICO Marketing is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Sports Marketing Lead. The Sports Marketing Lead will oversee a variety of sports partnerships/initiatives within GEICO's Sports Sponsorship program. This role works with various internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and acquire sponsorships. A successful candidate is a self-starter and strategic thinker with proven planning and negotiation experience who will work to advance sports sponsorship strategies at GEICO.

The candidate will have a desire to work in a dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize and multitask well. The candidate must be a team player, with a positive attitude, and motivated to continue to grow and innovate the current programs. Also, they must have relationship-building skills with both internal and external partners and continue to innovate and grow the programs they manage. A strong understanding of sports and various advertising mediums (social, digital, linear, experiential, etc.) is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, negotiation, activation, and reporting of an assigned portfolio of sponsorships made up of a combination of leagues, professional teams, and college athletics both directly and with agency partners.
  • Lead measurement and evaluations of sponsorships by analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging data for informed decision making and strategy optimizations
  • Research and implement innovative sponsorship engagement methods, remain privy to sports industry trends and new opportunities to test and learn to be on the cutting edge
  • Lead projects, discussions, presentations, and timelines while initiating new processes to improve workflow

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3+ years of Marketing experience - preference is given to candidates with strongly related work experience
  • In-depth understanding of the sports landscape/stakeholders including teams, leagues, colleges/conferences, and sports consumption methods
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Agency management experience
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization skills to coordinate between multiple projects -Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills

Highly Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, marketing, or sports field preferred
  • A strong understanding of sports and various advertising mediums (social, digital, linear, experiential, etc.) is a plus
