Quality Technician

nVent is seeking a Quality Technician to support day-to-day quality activities within our Distribution Center in Dayton, MN.

This hands-on role is responsible for conducting inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure products, materials, and shipments meet established quality standards. The Quality Inspector partners closely with Distribution, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to identify issues, support corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.

• Perform inbound and outbound product inspections, freight audits, and quality verification activities.
• Monitor quality performance across receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and shipping processes.
• Identify quality concerns and assist with containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action processes.
• Collect, track, and accurately enter quality-related data into company systems.
• Support routine reporting of quality metrics, KPIs, and operational performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with established quality standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with warehouse, distribution, and logistics teams to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality performance.
• Support additional operational activities as needed to meet business objectives.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in quality, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or a related environment.
• Experience using quality measurement tools and inspection equipment preferred.
• Ability to obtain a stand-up forklift certification within two weeks of hire; previous forklift experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and quality concerns.
• Basic math, measurement, and data entry skills.
• Comfortable utilizing computer systems and software applications to enter, track, and review information.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced operational setting and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Knowledge of Data Cooling Products a plus
• Working independently

1st Shift, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM (Flexible to work overtime and or to stay later based on needs as well)

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
