Role Overview

Are you finishing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and looking to start your career where networking, AI infrastructure, and customer-facing technology meet? Keysight is hiring a Solution Engineer to join our Network and Application/Security (NAS) test team in Santa Clara.

As a Solution Engineer, you will learn to design and deliver technical solutions across Keysight's NAS test portfolio, working alongside experienced engineers who will mentor you through your first year. Our customers are the companies building the world's largest networks: hyperscale data center operators, cloud providers, and network equipment manufacturers. You will help them validate the networks that carry AI training workloads, cloud services, and global internet traffic.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role. You will spend time in the lab building test topologies, and time with customers demonstrating how our solutions solve their validation challenges. We are looking for curiosity, strong fundamentals, and a genuine interest in networking. We will teach you the rest.

What You Will Do

• Learn Keysight's NAS test portfolio and build hands-on expertise with our test platforms, including AI data center test solutions.
• Build and maintain lab test topologies, running protocol and performance validation under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support product demonstrations and proof-of-concept efforts for customers, taking on more ownership as you ramp.
• Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions, learning how to translate customer requirements into test solutions.
• Write Python scripts to automate test execution, data collection, and reporting.
• Help troubleshoot technical issues during customer evaluations, escalating to senior engineers as needed.
• Develop demonstration materials and customer training content.
• Learn the fundamentals of AI/ML back-end network fabrics, including RoCEv2/RDMA, lossless Ethernet (PFC, ECN, DCQCN), and GPU cluster validation.
• Stay current on networking protocols, AI fabric technologies, and test automation practices.
• Share customer feedback with our Engineering and Product Management teams.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, completed within the last 12 months or graduating by the start date.
• Coursework or project experience in computer networks, covering TCP/IP fundamentals and Ethernet.
• Working knowledge of Python, demonstrated through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Comfort working hands-on with hardware in a lab environment.
• Strong communication skills and genuine interest in a customer-facing technical role.
• Curiosity, coachability, and a team-first approach.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of work time.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. export control regulations.

Desired:

• Internship, co-op, research, or military experience in networking, systems, or test engineering.
• Exposure to routing and data center protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, or EVPN, in coursework or lab settings.
• Network certification such as CCNA (or in progress).
• Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, or public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark.
• Awareness of AI/ML data center networking concepts: RoCEv2/RDMA, congestion control, GPU cluster fabrics, or collective communication such as NCCL.
• Experience with REST APIs or test automation frameworks.
• Leadership in student organizations, hackathons, or technical competitions.

Pay Range:

USD $137,190.00 - USD $228,650.00 Year
