Asst Director and Career Engagement Consultant

The Assistant Director will serve as a dedication Career Engagement Consultant for the College of Engineering. This position integrates career education directly into the academic experience to promote transformative career development across the student lifecycle. As a leader within the university's career success ecosystem, the Assistant Director empowers students through curriculum integration, robust industry partnerships, and technology-driven solutions. This role moves away from high-volume transactional advising to focus on architecting a unified student journey that connects academic planning, work-integrated learning, and clear career outcomes upholding K-State's R1 public land-grant mission.

The Career Center facilitates the career readiness of all students throughout the K-State community. The Career Center offers job search training, career advising, employer connections, and a staff dedicated to assisting students in the career development process.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and seven years of relevant experience in higher education, program management, or curriculum development. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
* Experience in curriculum design, learning outcome assessment, and evidence-based decision making.
* Experience supervising staff or directing the work of student employees.
* Educational background in/knowledge of Engineering.
* Knowledge of and experience applying career development theory and NACE career competencies.
* Proficiency in career management platforms (Handshake) and learning management systems (Canvas).
