About the Role

Are you interested in using technology, data, and analytics to solve real business challenges? As a Digital Innovation Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals supporting the systems and technologies that help power WGL Energy's retail energy business. You'll gain hands-on experience with business applications, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives while helping improve processes, enhance user experiences, and support data-driven decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity to develop both your technical and business acumen while working on meaningful projects within the energy industry.

What You'll Do

• Support the Energy Retail Digital team in modernizing business-critical applications that enable day-to-day operations.
• Assist with requirements gathering, business analysis, data management, reporting, and related development activities to support informed decision-making and successful solution delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes and support technology-driven solutions.
• Contribute to digital transformation, automation, and continuous improvement projects.
• Analyze data, help clean up data, and identify opportunities to enhance business performance and efficiency.
• Support special projects while gaining exposure to business systems, analytics, and emerging technologies.

What You'll Bring

• Currently enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate degree program in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in leveraging data to improve business performance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and translate complex concepts into practical solutions.
• Experience with data visualization, reporting tools, dashboards, analytics platforms, or business systems is considered an asset.
• Collaborative, curious, and proactive with a willingness to learn new technologies and business processes.
