TheZandi Labin the Department of Immunology and Immune Therapeutics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a motivated, detail-orientedResearch Laboratory Technician Ito join our growing research team. Our laboratory conducts translational research focused on developing and applying quantitative methods forblood-based biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease. We are particularly interested in improving the measurement of blood protein biomarkers and investigating their potential applications in Alzheimer's disease detection, risk assessment, and research. The laboratory also investigates therole of the gut microbiome in cancer therapy, providing opportunities to gain experience across complementary areas of biomedical research. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career research professional who would like to develop strong laboratory and analytical skills while contributing to meaningful biomedical research. The successful candidate will work closely with the principal investigator and other members of the research team and will receive hands-on training in relevant laboratory methods. Key Responsibilities The Research Laboratory Technician I will provide technical support for ongoing research projects under the supervision of the principal investigator and other senior laboratory personnel. Responsibilities may include: Performing routine molecular and biochemical laboratory procedures, including PCR andImmunoassay-based protein measurements Assisting with processing, preparation, and analysis of biological samples Performing cell/tissue culture procedures, as appropriate to individual projects Preparing buffers, reagents, standards, and other materials required for experiments Collecting, organizing, documenting, and performing basic analysis of experimental data Maintaining accurate and well-organized laboratory records Assisting with routine laboratory operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining laboratory organization Following established laboratory protocols and applicable environmental health and safety requirements Working collaboratively with the principal investigator and other members of the research team As the candidate gains experience, there will be opportunities to develop greater technical independence and participate more broadly in ongoing research projects. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology, - Previous laboratory experience through undergraduate research, employment, internships, or other research training - Familiarity with basic molecular biology and biochemical laboratory techniques - Experience with one or more of the following is desirable butnot required: PCR and related molecular biology techniques Protein analysis and immunoassays Cell or tissue culture Biological sample processing Basic quantitative data analysis Experience withLuminex xMAP technologyis a plus but is not required Basic computer and data-management skills Desired Attributes We are particularly interested in candidates who are: Highly organized and attentive to detail Reliable and able to follow established experimental protocols carefully Self-motivated and enthusiastic about learning new techniques Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively Effective communicators and team members Intellectually curious and interested in biomedical research The Zandi Lab is committed to creating a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive research environment. The hourly base rate for this position is $22.43 - $25.11.
