The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a Palmetto Collegecampus of the University of South Carolina located approximatelythirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates fora faculty position Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairsbeginning January 1, 2027.

The Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs isresponsible for strategi and long-term planning for all aspects ofacademic and student affairs for USC Lancaster. The Associate Deanis responsible for the oversight of academic curriculum, assessmentand evaluation of the curriculum. In addition, the Associate Deanprovides leadership to the faculty and manages the processesthrough which teaching is conducted and administers all aspects of Student Affairs including creating a robust student life strategyspecific to the student needs. Candidates must be collegial anddemonstrate outstanding skills in communication, consensusbuilding, and participatory management.

Required education and experience include:

• Earned doctorate from an accredited university.
• Substantial record of progressively responsible leadership thatincludes high-level administrative or managerial experience,advanced knowledge of and experience in higher education processesand policies and procedures.
• Achievement in the criteria required for a faculty appointmentwith tenure and rank.
• Experience with accreditation agencies/bodies.
• Demonstrated record of sound financial management.
• Proven ability to develop and foster good relationships withboth internal campus stakeholders as well as external audiencessuch as local, state, and national agencies, officials, anddonors.
• Demonstrated experience fostering a collaborative andconstructive work environment through open communication, positiveteam building, and effective relationship management.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

• Experience with developing, coordinating and deliveringdistance education programs.
• Experience with high school dual enrollment programs.
• Experience with student learning and/or academic programassessment.
