The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Cardiovascular Modeling and Simulation Laboratory (https://griffith.web.unc.edu). This position would support projects on (1) cardiac digital twins for heart failure and/or (2) cardiac fluid dynamics simulation software development in the Cardinal and IBAMR frameworks. The initial appointment would be for one year, with a potential for renewal. The start date is flexible but could be as early as December 1, 2026.

A PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field by the start date.

Experience in cardiovascular modeling and simulation.

Experience with software development and/or high-performance computing. Experience working with compiled programming languages (C, C++, Fortran).
