SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with corporate partners, growing campaign revenue, securing new gifts, and engaging corporate leaders, donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders in support of United Way's mission.

This role manages a portfolio of corporate accounts and plays a key role in developing fundraising strategies, identifying new revenue opportunities, strengthening corporate partnerships, and delivering an exceptional experience for donors and community partners. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and a quick learner who brings a professional presence, develops innovative ideas, and can successfully turn strategies into action. They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, changing environment. The successful candidate will be a relationship builder at all levels and strategic thinker who is energized by achieving results and creating meaningful partnerships

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS and EXPECTED PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/OUTCOMES include the following. Other duties may be assigned but are not limited to:

CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and execute strategic plans, timelines, and action plans for an assigned portfolio of corporate accounts.

  • Establish campaign goals and implement strategies to grow revenue through corporate giving, employee campaigns, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate decision makers, executives, donors, and other individuals who influence corporate giving and community engagement.

  • Cultivate relationships with company contacts and provide a responsive, high-quality experience throughout the campaign and year-round.

  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with United Way leadership, Campaign Co-Chairs, and executive-level corporate leaders.

  • Research and develop strategies for leadership and major gift prospects within assigned accounts.

  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations about United Way to audiences of varying sizes and levels of seniority.

  • Develop and promote corporate sponsorship opportunities and prepare annual sponsorship recaps for corporate partners.

  • Provide ongoing information, guidance, and support to volunteers and Campaign Coordinators assigned to accounts.

  • Maintain accurate and timely account information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

  • Monitor campaign performance, establish informed revenue projections, and take timely action to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

  • Gather and analyze campaign data and observations to identify trends, challenges, solutions, future opportunities, and best practices.

  • Stay current on organizational processes and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and the overall partner experience.

PROSPECT DEVELOPMENT AND REVENUE GROWTH

  • Research, prepare, and maintain prospect lists to identify opportunities for new and increased revenue.

  • Analyze account data, campaign results, and market trends to develop strategies for revenue growth.

  • Identify companies with strong vendor and business relationships as prospects for new corporate partnerships and gifts.

  • Develop and execute strategies to secure new corporate gifts, employee campaigns, sponsorships, and Leadership and Tocqueville-level donors within your assigned accounts.

  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue from small and medium-sized businesses within the assigned portfolio.

  • Identify emerging opportunities and challenges and take appropriate action in a timely manner.

VOLUNTEER AND CAMPAIGN CABINET ENGAGEMENT

  • Cultivate positive, productive relationships with assigned Campaign Cabinet members and fundraising volunteers.

  • Develop and review prospect lists with volunteers and make assignments based on available information and fundraising opportunities.

  • Maintain prompt, consistent, and proactive communication with Campaign Cabinet members and fundraising volunteers.

  • Assist with and participate in training, meetings, recognition events, and other engagement activities for volunteers, workplace giving ambassadors, Campaign Cabinet members, temporary staff, and other internal and external stakeholders.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities or direct reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree related to marketing, sales, business or planning from four-year college or university and 2-4 years fundraising or related experience.

  • Understanding of marketing, sales or fundraising and customer service roles.

  • Understanding of non-profits, human services and philanthropy.

  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to apply word processing and database management software concepts to practical situations. Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point.

  • Good understanding of group dynamics and good group facilitation skills.

  • Experience in working with diverse populations.

  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands.

  • Ability to work in a complex environment using technical and interpersonal skills.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
