The Quality Engineerensures that the organization's products and services meet company quality requirements, while also complying with customer and regulatory standards for quality, safety, and reliability. The primary focus is on ensuring customer satisfaction by addressing quality concerns and driving quality improvements based on closed-loop feedback systems. Key responsibilities include utilizing data regarding product factor and field performance to drive enterprise-wide quality improvement processes, conducting audits, resolving quality issues through root cause analysis, and developing in-process quality standards. This role also emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure quality-related activities align with organizational goals.



  • Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
  • Leverage advanced statistical tools to analyze product and process data, generating actionable insights for quality improvement.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to visually communicate key quality metrics and trends to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team to implement process improvements aligned with Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Conduct periodic audits of in-process quality checklists, forms, and documentation to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of in-process quality standards that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead the analysis of warranty claims to identify root causes and trends, implementing corrective actions to address recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their processes meet quality standards, conducting supplier quality audits as necessary.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff to ensure adherence to quality processes and standards.
  • Maintain and update policies, procedures, and standard work instructions as required.
  • Assist in preparing for external audits and certifications (e.g., ISO, AS9100).
  • Support quality-related activities in conjunction with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service.
  • Develop clear, concise, and accurate documentation, including policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
  • Create technical training materials, SOPs, and visual guides for process and quality improvements.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation for cross-functional teams.


Development & Training Responsibilities


  • Participate in a structured training and development program designed to build foundational knowledge in quality systems, manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and engineering best practices.
  • Travel to various company locations as required to complete hands-on training, quality audits, process evaluations, and developmental assignments.
  • Gain practical experience in quality assurance, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, process improvement, and quality management systems.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Leaders, Operations Teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop technical expertise and business acumen.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by learning and applying quality tools, statistical analysis methods, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Participate in quality investigations, data analysis, process audits, and customer quality issue resolution activities under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Complete assigned training objectives, development projects, and learning milestones within established timelines.
  • Develop an understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, quality procedures, and customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth by actively seeking feedback and applying new skills in daily responsibilities.
  • Adapt to changing training schedules, project assignments, and travel requirements based on business needs and individual development progress.
  • Participate in regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development discussions to track progress and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel for extended periods as necessary to support training, operational initiatives, and quality improvement projects across company locations.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with multiple departments, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and quality objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering, technician, or process/product quality-related role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Familiarity with document control systems to ensure proper management and version control of technical documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement and execute improvements.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and control charts.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to production noise and activity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and conducting hands-on inspections and audits.


Preferred Skills and Competencies


  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and control charts.
  • Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent.
  • Analytical Tools: Proficiency in using statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work across departments to ensure cohesive quality strategies.
  • Performance Indicators: Reduction in defect rates and rework costs, improved field performance, and timely resolution of quality issues.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and stoop while conducting inspections, investigations, or evaluating work processes.
  • Ability to occasionally climb ladders, stairs, platforms, or elevated work areas while performing safety assessments.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work in varying industrial environments, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and moving equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to visually inspect work areas, equipment, and documentation, and distinguish safety hazards in various operating conditions.
