JOB SUMMARY
The Cancer Center Supportive Care and Integrative Oncology (SCIO) Department provides access to social work, nutrition, spiritual care, music therapy, and integrative activities to patients and their loved ones throughout their cancer journey at no cost. SCIO team members provide direct care and lead programs including classes, support groups, and patient events. This position will support the department people, programs, and policies. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Education
  Bachelor's Degree In Business or Healthcare
  

• Experience
  6 years of related experience in the management of allied health functions in a clinical setting
  

• Licenses and Certifications
  Must meet appropriate licensure and educational requirements for respected field. (Example: LMSW, LCSW, LPC, etc.) Upon Hire

JOB DUTIES

• Manages and oversees the SCC support services team including professional social workers, program coordinators, music therapists, dieticians, licensed counselors, volunteer coordination, etc. within the Simmons Cancer Center clinical service lines and locations. Management includes, but may not be limited to, recruiting, orienting, evaluating performance, staffing, case assignment(s), and other work-related tasks to ensure that patients are receiving the best care as part of the caregiving team.
• Works with the Director of Oncology Ambulatory Operations, other SCC clinical leaders, and physicians to develop policies, procedures and organization of continuous performance improvement activities of the SCC support services team. Coordinates and acts as a liaison for community resources. Assists team in negotiation of financial, medical and other human service programs for patients and families.
• Develops and manages the philosophy, goals and objectives for the department, including resolution of unusual or complex psychosocial or nutritional problems. Identifies and resolves barriers for implementation of such. Provides education and expert role modeling to support services team in clinical areas of expertise. Develops, implements and manages comprehensive orientation, in-service and training programs for social work to support the organizational objectives and in conjunction with the changes in the profession and other regulatory changes.
• Establishes, maintains, and promotes effective relationships with internal and external leaders and community social service organizations.
• Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department. Incorporates budget planning, monitoring, and evaluating individual cost center. Manages the fiscal operation of the unit/department to ensure utilization of staff and resources are being met in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• May participate as an individual contributor in professional area (e.g. Social Worker, Dietitian, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
