Ada County Highway District (ACHD)is looking for General Equipment Operators to join our Maintenance Team. At ACHD, you wont spend your days behind a desk. Youll operate a variety of equipment, work alongside a team, and help keep Ada Countys roads and infrastructure safe and in good working order. And when winter weather hits, youll be part of the team that keeps people moving.

These are full-time, non-exempt positions with a starting wage of $23.80$26.20 per hour, DOQ. Depending on your experience and ACHDs needs, you may have an opportunity to work with our Grade, Utility, Broom, Vegetation, or Drainage Crew.

What Youll Do

• Operate light, medium, and heavy-duty maintenance and construction equipment, including dump trucks, water trucks, rollers, sweepers, front-end loaders, backhoes, and other equipment as needed.
• Perform a variety of hands-on work related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, sidewalks, storm drains, concrete structures, and other infrastructure within the right-of-way.
• Help keep Ada County moving during winter weather by applying sand and deicer to road surfaces and removing snow.
• Respond to winter weather and other emergencies when needed.

What Youll Need

• An Idaho Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
• If you have a CDL from another state, you must be able to obtain an Idaho CDL by your start date.
• If you do not have a tanker endorsement, you must be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
