CNC Operator

Education Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, vocational training, or equivalent technical education required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Basic math skills, including measurements, calculations, and dimensional analysis.

Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in CNC machining, manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, or a related industrial environment.
• Experience with CNC router setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of CNC programming, machine codes, tooling, and machining processes.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection equipment preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with production reporting systems and computer software applications.
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and work overtime as needed.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Capable of lifting, moving, loading, and positioning materials and finished products safely.
• Ability to operate machinery and handle tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to maintain focus on quality, accuracy, and safety standards for extended periods.

Job Duties

• Set up and operate CNC routing equipment using established programs, work instructions, and production schedules.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to manufacture parts to specification.
• Gather required tooling, materials, and equipment needed for production runs.
• Load, unload, and transfer materials while following all safety and quality procedures.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust tooling and offsets, and troubleshoot issues to maintain product accuracy.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections using measuring and inspection tools.
• Complete secondary operations and finishing work during machine cycle times as required.
• Record production, labor, and material usage accurately in company systems.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor tooling for wear or damage.
• Move completed products to designated staging, inspection, or storage locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while meeting production, quality, and efficiency goals.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to improve processes and support operational success.
