The Application Analyst III supports Epic applications that power patient access, scheduling, registration, referrals, and digital scheduling across RWJBarnabas Health. Applications include Epic Cadence Enterprise Scheduling, Prelude Registration, Referrals, CRM/Call Management, Welcome, and MyChart scheduling integration.

This senior-level analyst is primarily responsible for application design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support. The Application Analyst III works with minimal supervision, handles complex application issues, leads smaller to medium-scale builds, and serves as a knowledge resource for Application Analysts I and II.

• Designing, building, configuring, and supporting Epic Cadence, Prelude, Referrals, CRM/Call Management, Welcome, and scheduling workflows

• Optimizing open and direct scheduling, including visit types, blocks, decision trees, search terms, and scheduling rules

• Partnering with Operations and Informatics to evaluate current workflows and develop future-state solutions

• Building and maintaining application fields, screens, templates, workflows, and customer-defined functionality

• Supporting Epic upgrades, enhancements, implementations, system modifications, and ongoing maintenance

• Developing and executing test scripts and documenting testing outcomes

• Troubleshooting complex application, workflow, scheduling, registration, and build issues

• Providing go-live, post-go-live, and ongoing on-call application support

• Managing enhancement requests and partnering with customers to define requirements

• Maintaining application documentation, decision trackers, workflows, risks, and change control requirements

• Leading smaller to medium-scale application builds and process improvement initiatives

• Serving as a resource and preceptor for Application Analysts I and II and validating new analyst build

• You have strong hands-on experience with Epic Cadence and Prelude

• You understand patient access, scheduling, registration, and referral workflows

• You have extensive experience with open scheduling, direct scheduling, and scheduling optimization

• You are comfortable working independently on complex Epic build and support issues

• You enjoy translating operational needs into efficient Epic workflows

• You can lead application builds while collaborating with Operations, Informatics, training teams, and other analysts

• You enjoy mentoring other Epic analysts and sharing application knowledge

• Associate's degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience

• Active Epic Cadence and Prelude certifications

• Extensive experience with open and direct scheduling and scheduling optimization

• Experience configuring visit types, blocks, decision trees, search terms, and related scheduling functionality

• Demonstrated Epic application design, build, configuration, testing, and support experience

• Ability to independently handle complex application and workflow issues with minimal supervision

• Experience supporting application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance

• Ability to mentor and serve as a technical resource for other Application Analysts

• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and presentation skills

• Ability to maintain Epic certification through New Version Training (NVT), as applicable

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience

• 5+ years of system build experience

• Epic Referrals certification and/or CRM/Call Management experience or certification

• Experience with Epic Welcome and MyChart scheduling integration

• Experience supporting patient access, registration, scheduling, and referral workflows

• Experience leading smaller to medium-scale Epic builds or projects

• Experience with application governance, change control, workflow optimization, and testing

• Clinical licensure when applicable
