About the Role

We are seeking a Tech 2, Bakery Maintenance -2nd Shift to join our team at our Newark, CA bakery. As a Tech 2, Bakery Maintenance -2nd Shift, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair bakery equipment, building systems, and facilities to support safe and reliable operations. You will also fabricate and assemble stainless-steel components and support preventive maintenance while adhering to food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

• Shift: 2nd Shift
• Hours: Employees must be flexible with scheduled hours based on operational needs.
• Overtime: May be required based on work demands.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $39.00

Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)

• Fabricate and assemble stainless-steel structural components and equipment using MIG and TIG welding techniques in accordance with mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment overhauls to maintain bakery equipment, machinery, and facilities in safe and reliable operating condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose electrical systems including PLCs, VFDs, 3-phase electrical equipment, lighting circuits, and related controls.
• Maintain bakery facilities through building repairs, painting, roofing, carpentry, lighting, and other general maintenance activities.
• Document maintenance activities using SAP EAM and maintain accurate records in accordance with company requirements.
• Follow food safety and workplace safety standards including FDA regulations, GMPs, OSHA standards, HACCP requirements, sanitation procedures, and company quality and safety programs.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of electrical experience.
• Technical certificate in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing repair.
• Experience working in a maintenance department with knowledge of equipment setup, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop and engineering drawings, electrical drawings, work orders, operating manuals, logs, and maintenance instructions.
• Mechanical and spatial aptitude with the ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• 3 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment with knowledge of TIG and MIG/MAG welding.
• Experience in an automated food processing or manufacturing plant.
• Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), VFDs, industrial electrical systems, and automated manufacturing process controls.
• Experience with SAP EAM.
• Working knowledge of spoken Spanish.
