Malware Engineer

Peraton is seeking a Malware Engineer in our Linthicum, MD office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. Background: (U) Conduct software exploitation against applications, middleware, operating systems (OS) user interface, OS drivers/runtimes, firmware and other binary data:
• Exploitation of program and application to support priority technical exploitation requirements.
• Research behavior of binaries and share detailed understanding of how apps behave at memory/register level in support of technical exploitation operations.
• Support efforts to design, prototype, document, test, conduct exploitation automation and transition code analysis methods and tools specific to technical exploitation operations.
• Perform ongoing research into malicious software, emerging vulnerabilities, and exploitation tactics to stay ahead of evolving threats.
• Collaborate with forensics, vulnerability research, and cyber operations teams.

Required:

• Experience with Windows operating system & architecture.
• Experience with static analysis tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra and Binary Ninja.
• Experience with debugging tools such as WinDbg.
• Experience with virtualization, sandboxing, and emulation tools like VMware, KVM, QEMU and others.
• Familiarity of programming languages such as C, C++, .NET, Python, Java, etc.
• Active Top Secret clearance/SCI eligible.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with Bachelor's degree; Minimum of 3 years experience with Master's degree; Minimum of 0 years experience with PhD. A degree within one of these fields is highly desired: Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering. However, an additional four years of experience can be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred:

• Active DoD 8570, IAT Level II Certification.
