The eMINTS National Center (eMINTS) at the University of Missouri (MU)

Job Description

The eMINTS National Center (eMINTS) at the University of Missouri (MU) provides comprehensive programs of professional learning that help K-12 schools prepare students for a modern digital-age society. Our instructional model supports high-quality lesson design, promotes authentic learning, empowers technology-rich learning environments, and builds community among students and teachers. eMINTS classrooms are technology-rich environments where students tackle authentic, real-world problems, collaborate with others, and become savvy consumers of information and producers of new knowledge.

eMINTS is seeking an innovative, creative and energetic candidate to design and deliver eMINTS programs and professional learning in and out of Missouri. The person selected for this position will work remotely along with the rest of the eMINTS staff. Therefore, residing in Columbia, MO is not required. The start date is flexible through January 2027.

Duties:

  • Participate in writing federal, state or local grants as a lead or assistant.
  • Lead or support the implementation of one or more grants, including actively recruiting participants.
  • Deliver teacher, instructional trainer, and administrator professional learning in face-to-face, online, and blended formats.
  • Deliver professional learning that is active, hands-on, and engaging.
  • Support eMINTS participants through coaching, consulting and collaboration.
  • Seamlessly integrate a variety of technologies including Google for Educators and Chromebooks in the delivery of adult learning experiences.
  • Stay current on best engaging instructional practices in education, including the usage of educational technologies in classroom settings.
  • Develop effective professional learning materials and build a variety of support documents and websites to support eMINTS professional learning programs.
  • Work efficiently and effectively on collaborative teams to develop programs and materials in face-to-face meetings and from a distance using video conferencing technologies.
  • Build and maintain rapport and relationships with customers on behalf of eMINTS.
  • Represent eMINTS and MU at local, state, and national conferences by presenting and networking.
  • Travel to local, state, and national locations to provide professional learning and support which will include periodic one to five overnight stays.
Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program, preferably in an education-related field
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in K-12 or related field
  • Demonstration of effective instructional practices related to student-centered, authentic learning and technology integration
  • Understanding and addressing the needs of adult learners with designing and facilitating professional learning
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Coaching and mentoring skills that support adult professional learning
  • Effective use of technology to enhance professional learning and classroom instruction
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Flexible daily schedule to accommodate travel and duties outside regular business hours (when applicable)
  • Willing to travel to local, state, and national school locations and conferences
  • Entrepreneurial spirit as eMINTS creates and develops new products from grant work that can be commercialized in the educational market
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and learning management systems
  • A passion for helping students learn and developing teachers' professional practice
  • Experience with creating and writing professional learning materials for adults and designing high-quality lessons for students
  • Three or more years of experience of delivering professional learning and supporting teachers
  • Masters degree in education or a related field
  • An understanding of federal, state, or local grants and an ability to create compelling research questions and narratives related to programs that could be written into a grant
  • Experience with writing grant proposals and/or managing grants
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $58,000 - $65,000 per year
