DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on guiding drivers through licensing requirements, evaluations, and corrective programs that support safe driving practices. As a Driver Safety Examiner, you will perform the following duties:
- Exam Administration: Administer Special Point Exams and follow all examination procedures and protocols
- Driver Counseling: Communicate with drivers about violations, sanctions, and ways to improve driving behavior
- Hearing Reviews: Conduct departmental hearings and probationary license reviews and determine appropriate actions
- Record Processing: Perform accurate data entry of hearing and exam results and issue driver license products when required
- Instruction Delivery: Teach Driver Improvement School courses in person and virtually, including reviewing materials and administering final exams
- Policy Awareness: Maintain a thorough understanding of the Vehicle Code, Title 75, as it relates to driver licensing code violations and penalties, as well as the PA Point System

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Some overnight travel may be required to locations throughout the Commonwealth.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in legal or law enforcement work, or work involving the interpretation and application of motor vehicle regulations; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA Class C non-commercial driver's license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
