Summary

The Director, Quality Engineering is responsible for leading and maturing OneStream's approach to quality with an automation-first, AI-enabled mindset that is deeply embedded in the software development lifecycle. We're looking for someone who is energetic and engaging, technically hands-on, and able to translate quality strategy into practical execution across teams. This leader will improve release confidence, reduce customer-facing defects, and help build a culture where quality is everyone's job. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product, Cloud, Security, and Customer Success to ensure OneStream's CPM platform continues to meet enterprise expectations for stability, performance, and security as we scale.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy & Transformation

  • Execute and refine QE strategy, operating practices, governance, and metrics for complex enterprise SaaS and CPM platform delivery.
  • Help lead the shift from traditional QA to modern quality engineering by embedding quality ownership earlier in the SDLC.
  • Promote engineering excellence and a customer-centered quality culture across assigned teams and partner organizations.

AI Enablement & Automation

  • Collaborate on AI quality engineering enablement through practical adoption, standards, and team-level governance.
  • Drive automation-first practices including continuous testing, quality gates, performance testing, and quality dashboards.
  • Advance AI-assisted test generation, intelligent test selection, defect prediction, and quality insights from telemetry.
  • Stay technically engaged by reviewing automation approaches, frameworks, and quality data to guide team execution.

Risk & Release Governance

  • Define quality gates and release standards connected to business impact, not just defect counts.
  • Identify and mitigate risk across releases, integrations, data workflows, cloud scalability, security, and performance.
  • Support dashboards that give engineering and business leaders clear visibility into release readiness and quality trends.

People & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop QE team members, managers, and senior technical talent; strengthen team capability and bench strength.
  • Drive a high-energy, inclusive team culture with accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Cloud, Security, DevOps, and Customer Success on quality priorities.
  • Communicate quality risks, tradeoffs, and outcomes to engineering and business stakeholders in clear, actionable terms.

Required Education and Experience

  • 12+ years in software quality engineering, test automation, or related technology disciplines such as enterprise SaaS or cloud environments.
  • 7+ years leading QE teams, managers, or senior technical talent across distributed engineering organizations.
  • Proven track record improving QE strategy, automation frameworks, CI/CD quality practices, and release governance.
  • Experience implementing or advancing AI-assisted testing workflows with measurable impact.
  • Hands-on technical depth: architecture decisions, automation frameworks, quality data analysis.
  • Familiarity with CPM, EPM, financial consolidation, or complex enterprise data workflows.
  • Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, or similar tools.
  • Strong stakeholder communication - translates technical risk into clear business recommendations.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Deep experience with OneStream, CPM/EPM platforms, OLAP, or large-scale enterprise deployments.
  • Supported or led QE transformation in a high-growth enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Master's degree in a technical or business field.
  • Relevant certifications: ISTQB, ASQ, Agile, DevOps, cloud, or AI-related.
