The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. Position Summary
The part-time Research Associate is for a key position in a newly funded research study
working with foster cats from shelters with older adults aged 60 or older. This person will conduct ongoing administrative task regarding the research data compiled. This position is in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and reports to the Principal Investigator for the study. This position is part of the Participant Support Team on the study.

This position has a limited-term appointment that is expected to end 07/31/2028. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Completion of, or ability to obtain, required human subjects research training.
  • Experience supporting research studies involving human participants; experience with human-animal bond research preferred.
  • Experience administering surveys and collecting research data.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to effectively engage older adult populations.
  • Ability to conduct participant outreach and complete routine follow-up communications, including monthly well-being assessments by phone.
  • Ability to accurately collect, document, and enter research data into databases and other recordkeeping systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and data accuracy.
