The Opportunity The Data Engineer will be part of the Data Pipeline team to help build out our big data infrastructure. This person will play the lead role in creating our Spark framework and will work closely with Platform Architects to go from an Event Source data model, into Spark, and out to SQL. This person is a programmer, not someone who just sets up and maintains a Spark cluster. Responsibilities Open source Python Familiar with Event Sourcing Multi-platform development Cloud development Data processing pipelines Data cleansing Establishing data quality metrics Other duties as assigned. What someone will need to be successful in this role 4+ Years hands-on experience working with Big Data (AWS, Spark, Phython, EMR, PySpark ETC.) Experience with ETL toolsets. Solid proficiency in SQL. Experience with Data Warehousing. Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve production data integrity and performance issues. Proficient in writing technical specifications and documentation. A solid understanding of relational database architecture, including primary/foreign keys/constraints. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
