About this Position:

This roles mission statement is to "Ensure the right part is delivered to the right place at the right time at an optimal cost" This contributes to maintaining strong delivery characteristics with a regional viewpoint in order to support smooth production operations across North American manufacturing facilities ensuring customer satisfaction.

Under limited supervision, responsible for managing carrier delivery performance, in addition to other duties not specified but required for production and/or other core business activities. Participates in broad scope projects and handles complex transportation situations.

Approach to job:



  • Collaborate with Suppliers, Carriers, SCM Operations, SCM Packaging to ensure a smooth supply chain flow.
  • Minimize redundancy and out of route miles
  • Proactively review routes to ensure smooth flow inbound and outbound
  • Seeks to identify methods to improve routing efficiency and remove waste for the supply chain
  • Improve efficiency of HSP transportation network.
  • Perform ESC analysis to understand root cause and establish countermeasure


Responsibilities include:



  • Ensure delivery performance targets are met. Complete timely reporting of delivery progression, achieve cost reduction targets, perform root cause analysis / countermeasure implementation to solve complex problems w/ attention to closure speed and effectiveness
  • Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for area of responsibility. Associate must work cross functionally to expand knowledge of all areas within the supply chain.
  • Support company vision through Business Plan, KPI, and other Business Unit initiatives in areas of knowledge and technical expertise. Expand knowledge of transportation to SCM operations, Packaging and Delivery team.
  • Lead situation appraisal and analysis of carrier performance. Conduct & Lead meetings with carriers to develop and implement improvement plans.
  • Support the carriers in development and implementation of real-time EDI/GPS reporting.
  • Perform route bid evaluation and make sourcing recommendations


Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:



  • 2 - 6 Years' Experience in a Supply Chain/Logistics related role


Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management preferred or Equivalent Related Experience


Desired skills:



  • Microsoft Office
  • GPCS
  • AS400


  • Timeliness of problem resolution
  • Ability to meet Business Plan Targets (Plan vs. Actual)
  • Ability to meet cost reduction/avoidance targets.

  • Strong Sense of urgency and flexibility to respond to critical issues and unplanned risk events
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift on a limited basis to support crisis.
