Job Description
Produces, coordinates and implements various departmental training curriculum and may oversee specific departmental education programs. This would include, but is not limited to, planning and assessing educational needs as well as evaluating and updating program materials and manuals on an ongoing basis.
- Performs a variety of assignments that impact the Educational Support function
- Understands key departmental objectives and uses this understanding to accomplish/complete educational support projects/initiatives
- Implements educational support plans, providing guidance and oversight as necessary
- Solves problems in straightforward situations
- Analyzes potential solutions using experience, judgments and precedence, providing input and recommendations
- Impacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team, ensuring efficiency, productivity, compliance, etc.
- Explains complex information to others in a way that is understandable
- May serve as a liason with faculty, staff, trainers, and/or other internal and external constituents
Professional Development Oversight:
- Design, implement, and evaluate professional development programs for program coordinators, program leadership, and faculty members.
- Identify and address gaps in knowledge, skills, and competencies by creating tailored learning opportunities that align with the needs of the institution.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and self-improvement by providing educational resources, workshops, and mentorship opportunities.
Training Innovation & Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement training models using innovative educational techniques, technologies, and methodologies.
- Integrate New Innovations Knowledge Center learning, e-learning platforms, and other digital tools to enhance the educational experience.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders to develop curricula to ensure alignment with current ACGME standards and best practices.
Management & Coordination:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the GME training programs, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
- Support the onboarding process for new residents and fellows, ensuring that training objectives are clearly communicated and supported through the residency tracking system.
- Organize onboarding and orientation events.
- Update GME's marketing and website content as needed.
- Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
- Administer evaluations on the effectiveness of professional development and training programs.
- Review feedback from participants, faculty, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement adjustments.
- Stay current with advancements in medical education and related technologies, ensuring that GME programs incorporate the latest evidence-based practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
- Function as a liaison between the GME office, residency/fellowship programs, faculty, and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and share best practices.
- Represent the GME department at internal and external meetings, conferences, and committees.
- Provide administrative and operational support for institutional GME committees, meetings, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and distribute monthly communications to residents/fellows, Program Directors, and Program Coordinators regarding GME updates, deadlines, policies, and institutional initiatives.
Compliance & Accreditation:
- Ensure all GME programs comply with ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) and other relevant accrediting bodies' standards and guidelines.
- Assist with preparation for accreditation visits and audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and reports are up to date.
- Assist with institutional oversight and quality improvement projects, including review and monitoring of ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS) updates, Annual Program Evaluations (APEs), and other program-level submissions.
- Oversee PLA submission process
- May oversee and provide guidance to others in completing educational support duties.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in education, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical education, GME management, or related professional development roles.
- Strong background in curriculum development, training program management, and assessment.
- Expertise in educational technologies, including e-learning platforms, residency management platforms, and digital training tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and with all levels of staff.
- Knowledge of ACGME and other accreditation standards and requirements.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and a continuously evolving healthcare environment
- TAGME Certification preferred.
- Familiarity with project management software.
- Experience with data analytics and program evaluation techniques
- Possesses expanded conceptual knowledge of the Educational Support function and broadens capabilities.
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $67,000 - $80,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
