Traveling Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager

Location: Nationwide, United States
Schedule/Shift: Fully onsite at assigned project locations, typically starting at 7:00 a.m., with 45 to 55 hours per week
Pay: $80,000 to $120,000 annually
Allowances: $750 vehicle allowance and $150 phone allowance
Position Type: Direct Hire
Travel: Approximately 75%

Job Summary

The Traveling Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager oversees installation quality for low voltage infrastructure in construction and mission critical environments. This role inspects fiber, copper, pathways, racks, and cable tray systems to verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes. The manager leads corrective actions, maintains quality documentation, and coaches field teams to improve workmanship and prevent rework. Candidates may be based anywhere in the United States and must be available for approximately 75% travel.

Job Responsibilities



  • Conduct daily quality inspections of fiber, copper, pathways, racks, and cable tray installations.
  • Verify installations against construction drawings, specifications, elevations, and client standards.
  • Enforce applicable BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and hyperscale installation standards.
  • Review and validate copper and fiber test results against project requirements.
  • Maintain inspection logs, punch lists, deficiency reports, and organized QA/QC documentation.
  • Identify installation deficiencies early, coordinate corrective actions, and verify completed repairs.
  • Coach technicians on installation techniques, workmanship standards, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site leadership, general contractors, and clients during walkthroughs, quality meetings, and milestone reviews.
  • Follow site safety and change control requirements in new construction and active mission critical facilities.


Job Requirements



  • Several years of hands-on experience installing and inspecting low voltage infrastructure, including fiber, copper, pathways, racks, and cable tray systems.
  • Experience conducting QA/QC inspections, documenting deficiencies, and leading corrective actions.
  • Experience working in new construction or active data centers, colocation facilities, or other mission critical environments.
  • Hands-on experience using Fluke DSX testers, OTDRs, fiber inspection scopes, and optical power meters.
  • Strong working knowledge of BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and hyperscale installation standards.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, elevations, and client requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate test results and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Experience coaching technicians and coordinating with field leadership, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

  • Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States.
  • Approximately 75% travel is required, with assignments including Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Virginia.
  • Work is fully onsite at assigned project locations.
  • Typical workweeks range from 45 to 55 hours, with a usual start time of 7:00 a.m.
