Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer II will support the Transducer Production Engineering team across product redesign, fixture development, process improvement, engineering change implementation, and production support. The role combines hands-on manufacturing engineering with CAD design, process documentation, data analysis, and troubleshooting in a production environment. The engineer will collaborate with Quality, Product Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to implement design and process changes effectively. The position will also support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, ergonomics, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Job Responsibilities



  • Create, update, and maintain SolidWorks CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical diagrams.
  • Design, procure, and implement production fixtures and tooling.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Execute and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) within the PLM system.
  • Ensure ECN documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
  • Troubleshoot daily production issues involving tooling, fixtures, test setups, and assembly processes.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI, and internal tools.
  • Conduct process audits, time studies, and workflow assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve processes, safety, ergonomics, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support product redesign and design-for-manufacturability reviews.
  • Participate in process validation and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Product Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to implement design and process changes.
  • Support production activities and provide hands-on engineering assistance in a manufacturing environment.


Job Requirements



  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Experience executing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and managing engineering documentation within a PLM system.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, bonding, and assembly.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a production environment.
  • Experience developing or maintaining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing data and using data to support process decisions.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and DMAIC is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, manufacturing routings, and BOM structures is preferred.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
