Responsibilities

The Geotechnical Staff Project Manager II supports geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) projects through technical analysis, reporting, and project coordination activities. This role performs project tasks with increasing independence and contributes to project delivery across the lifecycle, including budgeting and client interaction. The Geotechnical Staff Project Manager II continues to develop consulting, technical, and project management skills while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Supports preparation of geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations
  • Manages construction materials testing (CMT) activities, including field report review and issue resolution
  • Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals
  • Assists in managing project budgets, change orders, invoices, and collections
  • Performs or supports boring and test pit layout and site access evaluation
  • Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances
  • Conducts research on local geologic conditions
  • Assists with supervision of field investigations and drilling activities
  • Performs or supports in-situ testing and soil classification
  • Reviews field data and supports preparation of project documentation
  • Supports training and development of junior staff and field personnel
  • Communicates with clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Performs other technical and project coordination tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience
  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
  • A professional license is not required in this position, but it is necessary to progress in your career
  • If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications
  • Working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards (developing)
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, teams, and supervisors
  • Developing project management and client communication skills
  • Basic familiarity with geotechnical software
  • Self-motivated and responsible work ethic
