Job Title: Project Manager_L3 Location(s): New York, NY (Hybrid: 1 day per week in the office) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a multi-workstream financial crime compliance (FCC) remediation program within a highly regulated financial services environment. The role sits at the intersection of project management and compliance, with responsibility for planning and tracking workstreams, managing regulatory remediation commitments, and producing governance reporting for senior stakeholders. The position requires the ability to move across multiple compliance topics as program priorities evolve. Deep specialization in a single compliance area is less important than strong program management, regulatory remediation, and stakeholder management experience. Responsibilities
- Own project plans, milestones, dependencies, and RAID logs across one or more concurrent compliance remediation workstreams.
- Adjust workstream scope, timelines, and priorities as program requirements evolve.
- Manage remediation action plans tied to regulatory commitments, including MRAs, MRIAs, and similar regulatory findings.
- Coordinate root-cause analysis, corrective actions, remediation activities, and closure evidence to ensure deliverables are complete and audit-ready.
- Run governance routines, including steering committees, status meetings, risk and issue escalation, and stakeholder communications.
- Align first- and second-line stakeholders and external advisors across remediation activities.
- Partner with compliance subject-matter leads across areas such as sanctions, AML/transaction monitoring, KYC, and quality assurance.
- Structure deliverables and tracking methodologies without owning the underlying technical compliance content.
- Produce consolidated, executive-ready reporting covering RAG status, dependencies, milestones, risks, and timeline impacts.
- Manage resourcing, timelines, and interdependencies across the program.
- Identify capacity, scope, schedule, and execution risks and escalate them to program leadership.
- Translate detailed compliance and remediation information into concise reporting for senior stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience combining project/program management with financial services compliance.
- Experience within a large bank, card issuer, payments company, or similarly regulated financial services organization.
- Hands-on experience managing MRA, MRIA, or equivalent regulatory finding remediation from root-cause analysis through closure and validation.
- Working knowledge of card issuing, payments, and related financial services business models.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to highly regulated financial services organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple compliance topics and workstreams without requiring deep specialization in a single area.
- Strong project management fundamentals, including planning, milestone tracking, governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
- Experience managing steering committees and executive-level governance reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical compliance details into clear senior-level reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar project management certification.
- CAMS or equivalent financial crime compliance certification.
- Experience with consulting-led remediation engagements, including Big 4 or strategy/implementation consulting.
- Familiarity with RCSA methodology.
- Experience with risk-and-control-library-based reporting frameworks.
Key Deliverables
- Workstream project plans, milestone tracking, and RAID logs.
- MRA/MRIA remediation action plans.
- Closure and validation evidence packages.
- Steering committee presentations and governance decks.
- Executive status reports.
- Risk and issue logs.
- Resourcing and timeline risk escalations.
