ABOUT THE POSITION

Position Title: Governance & Strategy Coordinator

Position Overview: As our Governance & Strategy Coordinator, you'll work closely with executive leadership, volunteer leaders, and teams across the organization to support key governance, strategic planning, and organizational initiatives. In this highly visible role, you'll coordinate meetings, communications, travel, materials, and follow-up while helping move important priorities forward. Through hands-on involvement with Board governance, strategic projects, and cross-functional initiatives, you'll gain valuable exposure to how decisions are made and how strategy is executed across the organization. Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week). Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Compensation Range: $28.00/hr. - $36.50/hr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*

Location: This position is based on-site at either Visions' headquarters in Endwell, NY (CUC) or our Saddle Brook, NJ office, providing the opportunity to collaborate closely with executive leadership and teams across the organization.

What you'll do in this role:



  • Provide administrative and executive support for organizational priorities by coordinating calendars, meetings, communications, travel, agendas, minutes, presentations, records, and follow-up.
  • Support Board governance and volunteer leadership by preparing materials, tracking schedules and deadlines, coordinating education and conferences, and maintaining alignment with policies and bylaws.
  • Coordinate strategic planning activities, reports, dashboards, documentation, and action items to keep priorities visible and moving forward.
  • Research industry, economic, governance, and strategic trends and organize relevant insights for leadership.
  • Track budgets, reconcile expenses, resolve discrepancies, and support special projects while building effective cross-functional partnerships.


What success looks like:



  • Executive and Board meetings, communications, travel, materials, and follow-up are coordinated accurately and on time.
  • Governance schedules, deadlines, policies, documentation, and volunteer activities are proactively managed and aligned with established budgets.
  • Strategic plans, reports, dashboards, decisions, and action items remain current, accessible, and clearly communicated.
  • Leadership receives timely, accurate information and dependable support for governance and strategic decisions.
  • Stakeholder relationships, competing priorities, and special projects are managed with discretion, adaptability, and reliable follow-through.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum qualifications:



  • Associate's degree with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience providing administrative, executive, governance, project coordination, or strategic planning support.
  • Experience using data reporting tools and dashboards to compile, maintain, or communicate information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively use relevant technology platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, discretion, confidentiality, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, respond effectively to change, and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and support budget tracking, reconciliations, and discrepancy research.

Preferred qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting a Board of Directors, executive leadership, governance processes, strategic planning, or financial-services operations.
  • Familiarity with credit union governance, Board policies, bylaws, compliance requirements, or volunteer leadership programs.
  • Interest in or experience using AI tools to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, or support high-quality work.
