Position description

The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series.

The Division of Cardiac Surgery offers outstanding patient care, engages in groundbreaking research and achieves significant advancements in the treatment of acquired heart disease, congenital heart disease, and transplantation. The program is located on the UCLA campus in Westwood.

The Division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Cardiac Surgeon to join the academic practice within the Division of Cardiac Surgery. This position offers opportunities for clinical work, innovative scholarly activities in heart transplantation and teaching in a large academic center.

The ideal candidate will have experience in adult cardiac surgery, ecmo and complex cardiovascular conditions. This position requires someone with a proven track record of clinical excellence, surgical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing advanced cardiac surgical care. An integral component of this position involves scholarly activities in adult cardiac surgery (extending from basic science to translational/clinical research), as well as teaching and supervising both trainees and medical students.

Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent and be board eligible or certified and be eligible for California medical licensure. The academic rank and compensation will be determined based on qualifications.
