Application Window Open date: October 9, 2026 Next review date: Sunday, Nov 8, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Apr 9, 2028 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY The University of California, San Francisco, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is recruiting for a board eligible or board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in hip and knee arthroplasty. The selected candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or In-Residence faculty series, as appropriate based on qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will participate in clinical care activities based primarily in Marin County and at the San Francisco VA Health Care System, with opportunities to provide care at affiliated UCSF clinical sites as needed. The candidate will participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows, including support of the Arthroplasty Fellowship Program, as appropriate. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in scholarly activities by collaborating in clinical, translational, and/or basic science research and disseminating findings through presentations and publications in peer reviewed journals. For positions that are 51% effort or more: Total compensation at the University of California, San Francisco includes your base salary, which is determined by your rank and step at appointment, and negotiated pay for Health Sciences Compensation Plan members. Faculty who are members of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan may also be eligible for additional incentive pay.
