Design Engineer - Direct Hire
Schedule: 1st Shift
Pay: $70,000-$80,000 annually
Education Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in engineering, product design, drafting, manufacturing, or a related technical role.
- Experience in HVAC manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, or aluminum extrusion processes is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for product design and drafting.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of CNC programming, AlphaCAM, and manufacturing processes preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a production facility as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and testing locations.
Job Duties
- Design, develop, test, and launch new commercial and architectural HVAC products.
- Support the full product development lifecycle, including concept creation, prototyping, testing, manufacturing implementation, and product launch.
- Create and modify 3D models, engineering drawings, CAD layouts, and nesting programs.
- Develop CNC laser cutting programs and CNC router programs using AlphaCAM.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to improve product performance, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with product testing, validation, and engineering documentation.
- Source and evaluate new components and materials alongside the Purchasing team
