Job Duties



  • Apply powder coating to metal products while maintaining required coating thickness and finish quality.
  • Inspect parts before coating to ensure surfaces are properly prepared.
  • Read blueprints and production specifications to verify color, finish, and application requirements.
  • Monitor curing ovens to ensure proper coating performance and product quality.
  • Inspect completed products and correct coating defects when necessary.
  • Clean, maintain, and perform minor repairs on powder coating equipment and spray guns.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area and meet daily production targets.



Education Requirements



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, production documents, and work instructions.
  • Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.



Experience Requirements



  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate basic production equipment when required.
  • Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Minimum 2 years of powder coating experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience applying powder coating to fabricated metal products of varying sizes and shapes.
  • Knowledge of powder coating equipment, spray guns, curing ovens, and coating thickness requirements.
  • Ability to inspect finished products for quality, coverage, appearance, and proper finish specifications.
  • Experience maintaining and cleaning powder coating equipment.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting production and quality goals.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Powder Coating Technician.



Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to work around paint fumes, powder particles, chemicals, and industrial noise while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Strong visual acuity, including color recognition and attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility for overtime when needed.
