- Set up and prepare Press Brake machines for production runs and changeovers.
- Retrieve and review job instructions, blueprints, routers, and part drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Conduct setup inspections, first-piece inspections, and in-process quality checks to meet production standards.
- Measure finished parts using calipers and other precision tools to verify blueprint specifications.
- Troubleshoot production issues and make machine adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce tooling costs.
- Verify raw materials meet quality and dimensional requirements before processing.
- Maintain a safe, organized work area while following all company safety procedures.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job routers, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP or other ERP system experience is a plus.
Experience Requirements
- Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
- Minimum 3 years of Press Brake setup and operation experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing machine changeovers, setup adjustments, and first-piece inspections.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools, including tape measures and dial calipers, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Experience reviewing raw materials for quality, dimensions, and defects before production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Automation experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in a related industry or similar position is preferred.
- Experience working in fast-paced, customer-focused, manufacturing, warehouse, administrative, or professional environments is beneficial depending on the assignment.
- Relevant certifications, technical training, or specialized skills are considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are well positioned for success as a Press Brake Set Up Technician.
Physical Capabilities
- Candidates should be able to safely perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators, and steel-toe boots.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
