We are currently accepting applications for a grant funded
non-benefits eligible position of:

Senior Services Assistant
Hourly Rate: $26/hour
Up to 15-18 hours/week
Non-benefited position

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Senior Service Director, the Senior Services Assistant will
support senior services to keep residents healthy, engaged, and connected. The Assistant will
work closely with Senior Services staff. The Assistant serves as an important point of contact
for older adults, volunteers, community partners and helps ensure that Senior Services division
operates efficiently and effectively.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Provide customer service with phone calls and walk-ins.
* Assist with the coordination of the SHINE program and volunteer counselor schedules.
* Assist with administration of the Senior Parking Pass program.
* Assist with planning, scheduling, registration, and logistical coordination for OWLL programs.
* Assist with the annual AARP Tax-Aide program, including volunteer and participant
coordination. Assist with scheduling, appointment reminders, registration, and program
communication.
* Assist staff in preparing flyers, e-newsletters, and other informational materials, as well as
social media for the Senior Services Division.
* Attend and participate in meetings as necessary.
* Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required. Associate's degree or equivalent preferred. Broad knowledge of
social services with 1-2 years' experience working in the field. Previous education and/or
experience with seniors preferred.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

A strong commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion as cornerstones of
excellent public service.

The ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed
actions, and recommend courses of action.

The ability to work successfully as a team member.

Excellent oral, written, and digital communications skills. Experience preparing flyers and
updating social media.

Knowledge of local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear; operate objects, tools, or controls; pick
up paper, files, books, and other common office objects. Ability to view computer screens and
work with details for extended periods of time. Ability to reach and bend, to stoop, kneel
crouch, or crawl and push/pull or may occasionally lift objects up to 10 pounds. Must be able
to communicate. Vision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges.
