Position Overview
The Center for Educational Opportunity Programs (CEOP) and the Center for Research Methods Consultation seek a part-time (.50 FTE/20 hours a week) Research Project Coordinator to provide support to existing teams working on several state and federal funded projects. The position is housed in and under the supervision of the CEOP, but the work assignment may be from both centers. Responsibilities mainly include project coordination, monitoring, and implementation and assisting with data collection and analysis, managing research agenda, and communicating with partners. The coordinator will work with the teams at the centers to ensure that assigned projects are implemented and documented consistently and in a timely manner.

Job Description
70% - Project Coordination, Monitoring, and Implementation
  • Provide project coordination for new and existing projects and ensure that they meet the project goals and objectives.
  • Track, monitor, and coordinate research plans, deliverables, and timelines to ensure timely completion of the projects.
  • Organize and monitor project milestones and other project-related data.
  • Manage and track scheduling across projects to ensure alignment.
  • Document procedures and policies for project and research activity coordination and implementation.
  • Document and track budget and project implementation.
  • Identify and document process improvements.
  • Provide presentations and reports related to project activities and implementation.
  • Communicate center missions to potential partners.
20% - Research Support
  • Assist with data collection and analysis.
  • Assist center leadership teams with managing research agenda and communicating with internal and external partners.
10% - Other
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  1. High School diploma/GED equivalency and five (5) years of experience in research, data collection or analysis OR a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field and one (1) year of experience in research, data collection or analysis.
  2. Two years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite as evidenced by work history.
  3. Previous experience that utilized strong communication skills with internal and external partners as evidenced by application materials.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM education field.
  2. Five years or more of experience with Microsoft Office suite as evidenced by work history.
  3. Knowledge of the University of Kansas and its policies and procedures as evidenced by application materials.
  4. Knowledge of accounting and grant management in a university setting as evidenced by application materials.
  5. Experience supporting research projects.
  6. Two years of experience in data collection and analysis.
  7. Previous experience that required working multiple projects at the same time.
