Overview

The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, self-disciplined, and able to work independently. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical.

The candidate will perform a variety of engineering work including but not limited to initial planning, design phases, and construction support of substation projects. Ability to perform the civil engineering aspect of projects with oversight. Performs other duties as required.


Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering duties associated with the development of solar, wind, and battery storage sites
  • Responsible for the development of permit-level site plans, stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP's), and stormwater drainage reports at the direction of a lead engineer.
  • Support and interface with the design and drafting group
    Utilize relevant software for the design of greenfield, brownfield, and access roads
  • Prepare engineering reports, specifications, drawing packages and other deliverables associated with design projects
  • Provide detailed engineering input to all design phases, including interpretation and challenge standards
  • Provide practical engineering support to the construction/commissioning phases of projects
  • Project safety, demonstrating safety is a priority via safety leadership, adherence to TRC and client safety policies and standards.
  • Coordination with allied disciplines in preparation and development of deliverables.
  • Takes responsibility for study, design, specification and services related to the engineering discipline.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school or University is required.
  • Minimum of 0 - 2 years' experience predominantly in the Power delivery sector.
  • Registered as EIT, PREFERRED, taken and successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is strongly desired.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • AutoDesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD Storm and Sanitary Analysis and/or HydroCAD, AutoTurn, MathCad, Office Suite.
  • Must have excellent oral / written communication skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Ability to apply analytical or scientific thinking to define and solve problems and be able to execute field and office tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel (required)
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, ASTM, ANSI, IBC, OSHA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate.
  • Ability to identify and develop solutions to complex problems or seek guidance from more experienced engineers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally in excess of a normal 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.
  • Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements.
  • Excellent technical, team, and interpersonal skills.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $74,984.00 - USD $95,700.80 /Yr.
