Econolite is an innovator of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions, products, and services. Our technology is helping save lives and making the Smart City a reality. If you want to be at the forefront of this intelligent technology revolution, we want to talk to you about being part of our team. Econolite is committed to employing the best talent that will make significant contributions to building a safer, connected world.

Econolite's ITS solutions ease traffic congestion, provide safer mobility, and improve quality of life. As the one-stop-shop leader for traffic management systems, sensor products, and services, Econolite is committed to the advancement of connected and autonomous vehicles, smart cities, and cybersecurity.

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team, specializing in full stack development with a focus on C# and Angular. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-quality web applications that meet business and user needs. You will work across the entire technology stack, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver modern, user-friendly, and efficient solutions for the Centracs Mobility product line.

AI is a core part of how this team builds software. We expect you to work fluently with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI Codex). That means directing them to plan and implement multi-file changes, write and run tests, and investigate issues, while you own the design, review every change, and stay accountable for what ships.

DUTIES

* Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using C# (.NET) for back-end services and Angular for the front end.

* Own features end to end: break down requirements, write technical designs, then implement, test, deploy, and support them in production.

* Use AI agents as a standard part of your workflow across the SDLC: planning, implementation, test generation, refactoring, code review, debugging, and documentation. Know when to step in and do the work yourself.

* Write clear specifications, acceptance criteria, and repository context (e.g., AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md, coding conventions, reusable prompts and skills) so teammates and AI agents produce consistent, correct work.

* Review AI-generated and human-written code with equal rigor. You are accountable for its correctness, security, performance, and maintainability regardless of how it was produced.

* Build and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and CI quality gates so the team can ship AI-accelerated changes safely.

Contribute to the team's shared AI tooling and practices, such as agent configurations, MCP integrations with internal systems (ADO, Jira, etc.), and lessons learned.

* Instrument services with logging, metrics, and tracing. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across the stack.

* Collaborate with product owners, designers, QA, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver high-performing software.

* Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time exempt position is $115,000 - $140,000 per year plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

QUALIFICATIONS

* 6+ years of professional full stack development experience with C# (.NET) and Angular with TypeScript.

* Modern .NET (8+): ASP.NET Core Web APIs, dependency injection, async programming, and Entity Framework Core.

* Modern Angular (standalone components, signals, RxJS), HTML, CSS, and responsive design.

* Relational databases (SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL), including query tuning.

* Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, or similar) in a professional development workflow. Able to speak concretely to how these tools changed your output and how you verify and review what they produce.

* Automated testing (xUnit/NUnit, Jasmine/Jest, Playwright, or similar).

* Docker and Kubernetes; Git and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions); cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

* Secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10) and authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0/OIDC).

* Solid understanding of software design patterns and architecture principles.

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Building LLM-powered product features: LLM APIs, tool/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and evaluating AI output quality.

* Observability tooling (OpenTelemetry or similar).

* Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) domain experience (e.g., traffic signal systems, NTCIP) or experience serving public-sector customers.

BENEFITS

This role is eligible for benefits: weekly pay, weekly PTO accrual, paid holidays. Various medical plans, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, direct deposit. Basic life, LTD, 401k discretionary match. Other voluntary benefits include: identity theft protection.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT
