Specialty Care RN Supervisor

Supervises resources and delegates as appropriate to optimize achievement of department goals objectives. Assists in the operations management of the area. Promotes retention of staff through recognition and promotion of teamwork within and across shifts. Supports and encourages the professional development of staff. Ensures optimal patient care and procedural standards through daily rounding and interactions with team members. Supports and facilitates a collaborative relationship between medical staff and hospital staff. Responsible for assigning and coordinating patient care as well as providing direct patient care.

   *Participates with manager in the process of interviewing and hiring of staff for the unit/area assigned; promotes the recognition and retention of staff.

   *Ensures staff competence through coaching and individual development.

   *Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of facility protocols, ensuring adherence to existing policies and procedures during daily interactions with staff.

   *Clearly defines, delegates and ensures completion of assignments to be accomplished throughout the shift; provides feedback in a timely manner to staff.

   *Treats patients and families with respect and dignity while maintaining positive relationships and collaborates with leaders to resolve staffing, patient care, and physician and family concerns.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and certification in specialty preferred.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
