Interstate Energy Systems is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Power Generation Sales Representative to grow our market presence throughout Iowa. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who thrives on developing new business, managing key accounts, and helping customers solve complex power generation challenges.

This role offers a competitive base salary, uncapped monthly commission, company vehicle, laptop, and cell phone, providing significant earning potential in an established territory with strong market opportunities.

As a trusted advisor, you'll work with contractors, consulting engineers, municipalities, healthcare facilities, industrial customers, data centers, utilities, and facility managers to identify, design, and deliver reliable power generation solutions.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a growth strategy for the Iowa territory.
• Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers and strategic accounts.
• Promote and sell generator systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), switchgear, paralleling controls, and related power generation equipment.
• Collaborate with electrical contractors, consulting engineers, facility managers, municipalities, utilities, and end users.
• Provide technical consultation, equipment recommendations, and budget pricing.
• Assist customers with system design concepts, equipment selection, and specification development.
• Manage projects through the complete sales cycle, including quotations, negotiations, submittals, and project handoff.
• Coordinate with engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Track opportunities and customer activity within the company CRM system.
• Represent Interstate Energy Systems at trade shows, industry events, customer meetings, and training seminars.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activity.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of successful outside sales experience; technical sales experience strongly preferred.
• Experience developing and managing customer relationships in industrial, commercial, construction, electrical, or equipment-related industries.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in power generation, electrical equipment, industrial equipment, or related industries.
• Knowledge of generator systems, ATS, switchgear, UPS systems, electrical distribution equipment, or critical power infrastructure.
• Experience working with consulting engineers, contractors, utilities, municipalities, healthcare systems, or industrial customers.
• Understanding of NEC, NFPA, and other electrical industry standards is a plus.
