Aquent Studios is seeking a visionary designer to join a dynamic team that crafts world-ready visual content for senior executives. This is an incredible opportunity to leverage your expertise in visual communications to directly influence high-stakes presentations and broadcasts, creating stunning and impactful moments that drive engagement and shape perception. Your work will be critical in supporting executive communications, often during crucial evening and weekend hours, playing a pivotal role in the success of major events and initiatives.

About the Role

Are you a creative powerhouse with a knack for transforming complex ideas into compelling visual stories? We are looking for an exceptional individual to serve as a pivotal force in shaping executive-level communications. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing strategic narratives into powerful visual solutions that resonate globally. You will not only design but also lead, influence, and innovate, ensuring every presentation and broadcast leaves a lasting impact. Your strategic vision and design mastery will directly contribute to the success of major initiatives, making you an indispensable part of a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary presentation designer and trusted point of contact for executive teams, translating strategic narratives into impactful visual solutions, developing storyboards, and producing broadcast-ready graphics that maintain consistent quality and impact.
  • Drive the creation of executive communication assets, ensuring they not only adhere to corporate brand guidelines but also powerfully convey the intended messaging framework established by brand and creative teams.
  • Engage with a diverse ecosystem of visual communications design suppliers, guiding them to produce compelling graphic design solutions that meet the high standards required by senior executives. Serve as the primary liaison for vendors, resolving roadblocks and collaborating on storyboard and wireframe development.
  • Apply a strong fundamental knowledge of visual design disciplines, including typography, iconography, composition, layout, color theory, and photography selection, to create a range of visual mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, and motion/visual guidelines.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize design projects and workloads, determining deadlines and forecasting staffing needs, especially during high-impact periods and executive support, which will include evening and weekend engagement.
  • Establish proactive relationships with communications teams to anticipate needs, remove potential roadblocks, or develop effective avoidance strategies before they arise.
  • Build compelling visual narratives and concepts that effectively tell a story, aligning with visual communication strategy goals to ensure presentation success. Collaborate closely with other visual communications design managers, designers, producers, content teams, and executive management.
  • Provide critical feedback and guidance on projects completed by suppliers, both during development and after presentations, ensuring the highest standards are met.
  • Identify opportunities to share executive content internally and externally, and ensure all visual communications content is properly archived for future reference.
  • Provide essential support, including potential travel to events, which may include international destinations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience managing design projects and a proven track record of leading successful design teams to deliver event-related content.
  • Mastery of presentation design and animation skills, with the ability to provide a compelling portfolio of work relevant to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Demonstrated experience in frequent contact and collaboration with all levels across an organization, including business groups, senior executives, and external suppliers.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguous situations, identifying and proactively solving for blockers, and understanding when to escalate issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Strong technical understanding, and preferably hands-on usage, of widely-used technology ecosystems and services.
  • Exceptional collaboration and cross-team partnership skills, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment.
  • A self-motivated and directed individual, capable of successfully completing duties with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard Adobe design applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and post-production workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with creative team members, media leads, and senior leadership.
  • A strong understanding of creative teams and processes, coupled with experience across a range of mediums.
  • Strong executive presence and a demonstrated ability to build, extend, and maintain senior client relationships with executive communications teams.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with all levels within the company and a proven ability to drive results within the organization.
  • Flexibility for travel to support event pre-production and show dates, estimated at 25%+ and potentially including weekends and international destinations.
  • Nimble and adaptable, able to negotiate with multiple stakeholders, confidently defend design decisions, and know when to accept direction.
