Position Summary
Our client is seeking a hands-on Social Media Specialist to support its organic social media team with a particular focus on content repurposing, day-to-day execution, and timely/reactive social content. This is not primarily a high-level social strategy role. The team already has leadership in place and is looking for someone who enjoys personally creating and publishing content. Approximately 70% of the role will focus on content repurposing and execution - taking existing materials such as livestreams, webinars, videos, articles, campaign assets, and internal insights and turning them into multiple engaging, platform-specific social posts. The remaining 30% is more real-time and reactive. They want someone who can recognize a relevant news story, industry trend, live event, or conversation, quickly identify an appropriate social angle, and turn it into timely content - sometimes within hours. The ideal person is independent, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working quickly without needing multiple layers of approval.
Responsibilities
Repurpose webinars, livestreams, videos, articles, and other existing content into multiple social assets.
Write engaging, platform-specific social copy, with a particular emphasis on LinkedIn and B2B audiences.
Create, schedule, and publish organic social content.
Identify relevant breaking news, trends, industry conversations, or live moments that they can participate in socially.
Quickly develop timely social posts around relevant news or insights.
Maintain a natural, conversational brand voice that sounds human rather than overly corporate.
Execute against an established social strategy and content calendar.
Work independently and move projects from initial asset or idea through publication.
Collaborate with social, content, brand, and other internal marketing teams.
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working under quick turnaround times.
Help maximize the value of existing content by finding additional ways to package and distribute it socially.
Ideal Background
Hands-on experience creating, writing, scheduling, and publishing organic social content.
Demonstrated experience taking one larger piece of content and turning it into multiple social posts or assets.
Experience producing timely or reactive social content around breaking news, trending topics, events, or industry conversations.
Strong social copywriting skills with a natural, conversational voice.
Comfortable working independently and making day-to-day content decisions.
Experience in a fast-moving environment such as an agency, startup, media company, broadcast organization, or live-event team is especially relevant.
Experience owning a social channel or content program independently or as part of a small team is a plus.
B2B, technology, SaaS, or cybersecurity experience is helpful but not required.
Experience with LinkedIn and other major organic social platforms.
Comfortable in a hands-on individual contributor role, even if you've previously held a Social Media Manager title.
