Job Description Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Cognitive Linguist with extensive experience in conversational AI, Natural Language Understanding (NLU), computational linguistics, virtual assistants, or related areas. The role will focus on designing and developing business process networks and conversational experiences using virtual assistant technologies, with integration into enterprise systems and a strong emphasis on user experience. The ideal candidate will combine deep linguistic expertise with practical experience in NLU, conversational AI, and Generative AI, translating business requirements into effective and intuitive conversational experiences. Key Responsibilities * Understand and manage NLU intent portfolios across multiple business domains. * Design and optimize intents, utterances, entities, and conversational flows for virtual assistant solutions. * Develop business process networks using virtual assistant and conversational AI technologies. * Design conversational experiences with a strong emphasis on usability and user experience. * Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective NLU and conversational designs. * Collaborate with business, product, engineering, AI, and technology teams to develop enterprise conversational solutions. * Support integration of virtual assistants with enterprise applications and downstream systems. * Analyze conversational patterns and identify opportunities to improve intent recognition and user interactions. * Contribute linguistic expertise to Generative AI and multimodal AI solutions. * Establish standards and best practices for conversational design, taxonomy, intent definition, and NLU quality. * Support testing, validation, refinement, and continuous improvement of conversational experiences. * Provide senior-level guidance on complex linguistic, NLU, and conversational AI requirements. Required Skills * Extensive relevant experience in cognitive linguistics, computational linguistics, conversational AI, NLU, NLP, virtual assistants, or related areas, with demonstrated ability to lead complex enterprise conversational AI initiatives. * Strong understanding of Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and intent-based conversational systems. * Experience designing intents, utterances, entities, dialogue flows, and conversational experiences. * Experience developing solutions involving virtual assistants or conversational AI platforms. * Strong understanding of language structure, user intent, ambiguity, and conversational context. * Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. * Ability to translate complex business processes into intuitive conversational interactions.
