Position Overview:

This role will serve as a global leader for developing, integrating and deploying technology across the portfolio. You will work with customers, business stakeholders and product developments teams to identify opportunities for growth. You will provide inputs for design and development of new solutions, work with delivery teams to ensure effective risk management. You will work with leading technology companies to develop an effective ecosystem for solutions. You will report to the Fire CTO and work closely with the business leaders - VP/GMs - to drive strategies and results.

This role will be based in Atlanta, GA.

Strategic Business Unit you will be supporting:

Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT), a strategic business group of Honeywell International, a Fortune 100 company. Our Fire division is a 2 billion-dollar business unit that focuses on life safety in buildings across verticals like Premium Commercial, Education, Healthcare and others. There is significant innovation underway with new products and solutions being developed with IoT technologies including cloud, mobile and analytics. These products and solutions cover life safety aspects like smoke detection, manual pull-stations, addressable fire alarm control panels, and notification devices in buildings.

What you will be doing?

The Sr. Director, Fire Detection Architecture & Innovation is responsible for leading a global engineering and technical program management team responsible for architecting, developing, validating, delivering and sustaining all aspects our Fire division within our strategic business group Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT).



  • Work as part of wider global organization collaborating with peers, teams and senior architects both within Honeywell Fire.
  • Work closely with to other Honeywell business and platform initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other business leaders to achieve strong growth.
  • Be a Manager of Managers and responsible for the delivery of full stack products.


Ideal Candidate



  • Experience with fire and gas detection technology, control systems, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Understanding of the different Fire sensors and detector technologies and their application
  • Delivering End to End Enterprise Application and Systems Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Embedded Control Systems (Firmware / Sensors / Hardware Platform / Mechanical Packaging)
  • Understanding Gateway Connections through on premise and off premise applications.
  • Experience with industry based "Building Technology" (IE: Elevator Systems / HVAC Systems / Security Systems / Fire Systems)
  • Extensive engineering experience along with driving new architectures
  • Significant leadership experience preferably in an international, multi-site and multicultural business environment
  • Product development expertise, from idea generation to product launch
  • Market focused mindset and ability to anticipate changes in customer's needs
  • Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience

Key Responsibilities



  • Provide end-to-end product and solution development for Fire Systems globally.
  • Drive strategic technology roadmaps for Fire Enterprise Brands - Notifier US / EN, Gamewell - FCI, Notifier It, Esser, Gent, Eltek.
  • Drive standardization across platforms, through reference architecture balancing hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Drive continued innovation in products, projects, and services portfolio new break through offerings to drive products and solutions with recurring revenues.
  • Drive portfolio towards platforming to ensure singular Honeywell experience for customers' personas across diverse systems, and workflows deployed in the building.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams globally to engage customers and identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with Honeywell internal business partners to identify and define solutions that uncover new insights and create new opportunities.
  • Work with leading technology companies to develop effective collaborations that support growth objectives.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 10+ years' experience with technology and product development leading to impactful solutions in relevant areas
  • 5+ years of experience in deployment of large-scale projects and services with hardware and software components
  • Proven ability to envision and realize solutions that leverage multiple technologies to realize novel capabilities
  • Experience leading global development teams for 5+ years
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to work with business leaders at a strategic level
