Another Source's client, Western Washington University (WWU), is recruiting an Associate Director of Talent Management to join their team in Bellingham, WA. This role will offer hybrid flexibility.

The Role:

The Associate Director of Talent Management will set the vision, strategy, and goals for all aspects of recruiting talent and will lead the recruitment and staffing initiatives for Western Washington University's non-academic roles in attracting and developing a diverse, talented, and engaged workforce through effective planning and operational management.

What you will be doing:

This is a reimagined position that will have the opportunity to formally build the Talent Acquisition department all while being a leader in the exciting transformation at WWU!

* Developing creative and effective marketing, sourcing, and selection processes to drive success in recruitment and retention outcomes

* Developing, facilitation, and implementing all phases of the recruitment process, providing high quality experiences for candidates and hiring managers

* Collaborating with department managers to identify and draft or review existing detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria

* Managing efficient recruiting, interviewing, and hiring systems and processes supporting a positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding

* Leading a high performing talent management team that focuses on continuous process improvement and successful outcomes; working with other university units with a role in recruitment to ensure efficient and effective processes

* Overseeing the university's classification and compensation structures, ensuring equitable pay

* Contributing to the university's staff retention efforts, providing supervisors with tools, processes, and training for effective people management

* Demonstrating a commitment to accessibility, diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural awareness through actions, interaction, and communication with others

* Applying knowledge of university hiring practices and procedures, applicable sections of the collective bargaining agreements or handbook, as well as state and federal law and best practices

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree plus 7 or more years of relevant work experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role successfully leading and direction staff and/or teams, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Strong people and project management skills and ability to leverage these skills in effective

working partnerships across organizational lines.

* Fluency in web-based recruiting tools, including social media and job boards and applicant

tracking systems.

* Proven record of developing and effectively managing recruitment programs, projects, and

initiatives.

* Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to talent management.

* Familiarity with best practice staff compensation frameworks.

* Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced organization with competing priorities and distractions.

* Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Human Resources and/or a combination of education and experience

* Professional HR Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM CPS, PHR, or SPHR)

* Talent management experience in a higher education and/or public agency setting

Salary:

This role is posted at $110,000-$125,000/year depending on experience and qualifications.
