Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Summary: Credit part-time adjunct faculty teaching positions in Mechanical. Adjunct Instructors will teach various credit courses in the Mechanical Technology program. Candidate will have experience, knowledge, and understanding of mechanical maintenance processes, with emphasis on topics including core components of bearings, belts, chains, gears, servos and motors, pneumatics and hydraulics, principles of load rigging, experience with associated hand and power tools, precision measurement practices, and experience with mechanical fastening systems. Basic understanding and/or experience troubleshooting maintenance of simple machines and complete mechanical systems. Experience in all facets is desirable, but specialty training in specific areas may be considered. Leads teaching discussions in the topics listed above in the summary statement. Candidates should have knowledge extending beyond theoretical knowledge into experiential understanding of core mechanical components and overall mechanical systems. The successful candidate will responsibly instruct students seeking certifications required by local industry. Credentials taught will include certificate programs, specialized diplomas, associate's degree candidates, and students continuing on to complete a four year program. Classes include afternoon and evening schedules, and will require laboratory preparation time in addition to lecture time. Qualifications: Hands on and related experience in mechanical maintenance and or design is desirable in the topics mentioned above as the primary qualification, as this is a mechanical trades based curriculum. Some form of academic instruction at the college level, including associate's degree level or above is desirable but not required in lieu of experience. Ability to convey basic concepts to students following a prescribed curriculum is necessary. Special Instructions: The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department and the College.
