Research & Development Analyst - Telematics (REMOTE)

GEICO's Research and Development Department is looking for an enthusiastic Telematics Research & Development (R&D) Analyst eager to make an impact toward achieving our ambitious mission to transform GEICO's personal auto product through telematics. This is an opportunity to drive significant product innovation and help re-shape the way customers think about insurance through pricing transparency and control, proactive claims service, and a fun and engaging user experience through our mobile app. You'll also have an opportunity to help shape our strategy for the use of connected vehicles in our telematics products.

Job Responsibilities:

Your role will center around data exploration, analysis, and model development, but will also require a cross-functional ability to perform various quantitative and qualitative tasks and collaborate with partners across business and technical teams. You should be comfortable extracting and analyzing data from a variety of sources, using data and visualization techniques to deliver key insights, communicating verbally and through written communication with a range of audiences, and tackling a diverse range of complex questions in order to drive our product development forward.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operation Research or related quantitative and analytics fields.

  • SAS SQL knowledge

  • Cloud database knowledge.

  • Proficient to R (Python will be a plus)

  • Proficient in Excel v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing

  • Ability to analyze data using statistical, mathematical or data mining methods.

  • Experience in process control and project management.
